Quarantine Vibes

What a weird time to be alive hey? Grocery shopping has become a competitive sport and hand sanitizer is known as liquid gold.

Like so many of you, I am currently self-isolating and trying to find different things to keep myself occupied with. I’ve been successful so far, but for those of you who are getting cabin fever…here are some things that are helping me stay positive ^_^

Movie Marathons

  • XMEN! – The original Avengers crew. I’d never seen any of these before and they are intense! So many creative storylines that will keep your rapt attention.
  • Harry Potter – So fucking good. I personally wasn’t allowed to watch or read these as a kid (#deprived) but was blown away when I saw them recently with how imaginative and amazing they are!
  • Jurassic Park – Dinosaurs back again, need I say more? Absolutely brilliant.
  • Back To The Future – One of my personal favourites!! So much fun playing with time travel in the ’80s. Great fashion inspo too 😉

Music

Activities

  • Go for a jog – In your neighbourhood, breath in the fresh air of spring. The blossoms look beautiful and it’s easy to social distance while in wide open areas! Please don’t go anywhere congested with people if you don’t have to.
  • Draw/Paint/Doodle! – Drawing or painting isn’t for everyone, I personally find it very soothing and a great way to regain my focus. It’s fun being creative when you have the time to be 🙂
  • Meditate – Don’t try to upkeep your regular busy schedule by replacing it with a quarantine busy mind. Take advantage of this lull and find peace within yourself. It’s okay to take a few moments for ourselves. ❤
  • Play Games – If you’re quarantining with someone, (family, partner, roommates…) pull out a deck of cards and have some old fashioned fun! My favourite card game is Rummy, but Spoons is a close second. A simple game of checkers or even connect four could really help to pass the time!
  • Dance – Does anyone remember the iconic Wii game of Just Dance? There are dances from different versions uploaded to Youtube for easy access to a fun workout! I’ve utilized this and it has always brought a smile to my face ^_^
  • Practice Your Skills – If you’re lucky enough to own an instrument, this would be a great time to hone in on polishing a valuable skill set! Or if you have a passion for writing, crafts, videography, etc… have fun developing your abilities during this time of isolation 🙂
