Cliff Gilker Park

If you like chasing waterfalls, then you’ll like Cliff Gilker Park. This park has not one but TWO beautiful waterfalls! The photos in this post do not do the parks’ beauty justice. It is an easy access via the Sunshine Coast highway (101).

It is a tranquil atmosphere that is in close proximity to Roberts Creek, found on the opposite side of the highway. The local transit is able to take you very close to the opening of the park as both the 90 and 1 bus routes go along the highway as well.

If you are travelling by car, you can drive right into the park until you reach a parking lot that overlooks a swing set, picnic area, large field, and washroom building.

The large picnic area with multiple picnic tables provides a fun space in which social distancing can easily be accomplished, and a game of frisbee or tag can commence.

The washroom building (yes building, NOT outhouses!) provides a nice private place to get changed into a swimsuit if one would like to take a dip beneath the waterfall which is just steps away.

Cliff Gilker Park is a great spot to retreat from the hot summer sun or to witness rushing waterfalls year-round.

This park is a great place to bring your family and friends including those who are seniors or children. The hike in the park doesn’t feel much like a hike, but it is a beautiful walk through the foliage of trees.

In short, you don’t have to be in optimal physical shape in order to enjoy this park. There are many tree roots, however, so be careful! The paths are clearly marked, and it is easy to not get lost.

If you’ve never been to Cliff Gilker Park before, I would suggest checking it out! It has a lot to offer and is easy to find on the map. Feel free to shoot me a message via the contact page if you have any further questions or things you think I might have missed!

Cheers,

Holly
