I loved eating brunch in Weiro Cafe back in February 2023. It was incredible on multiple levels! To start, the interior is so intentionally designed and aesthetically pleasing. The owners have obviously put a considerable amount of effort into the appearance and atmosphere of this cafe. In the evenings it also becomes a popular spot to grab a drink with friends.
Located in the Victoria-Fraserview neighbourhood, this cafe is easy to miss if you aren’t careful. Tucked away is one of the best brunch spots I’ve ever been to, hands down. The quality of the food, the quality of service, and the general ambiance all come together to make an unforgettable dining experience.

from start to finish
If you’re wondering why there’s a lack of people in the photos shown here, don’t worry. The cafe opens at 12:00pm (noon) and we were the first ones in! We beat the rush and enjoyed having it all to ourselves for a while before other people gradually streamed in.
Okay so let’s get into it. The food was the piece de resistance! I cannot stress enough how impressed we were when we were served our enormous plates of food. Their menu includes breakfast and lunch items, as well as so many beverage options (alcoholic and non). Some options that they offer are noodle and rice dishes, spaghetti, sandwiches, waffles, and so much more.
A lot of creativity and care has gone into each dish and drink, making it difficult to decide which things to try first! It was a different dining experience because it was the first recognizably western – Asian fusion place I’ve gone to, and they’ve done such a good job of combining the two styles.
My partner and I both ordered brunch dishes that veered toward western style breakfast foods, but with a notable Asian twist. The meals were a huge ‘bang for your buck’ with excellent quality and variety. Also, with their extensive menu it’s easy to find something you’ll like, and that’s in your price range.

My plate was called “Casual FARM Brunch”, and it included french fries, a mushroom & zucchini omelet, a green salad with smoked duck and shredded carrot, and the most divine chicken karaage I’ve ever tasted. SO GOOD! I give them brownie points for making the portioning so generous that we had some leftovers to take home with us to enjoy later.
My partners’ “Vegetarian BRUNCH” plate was similar but distinct in that it included waffles, and was just as filling without the meat. We enjoyed playing cards at our table before being served our delicious meals. Our server was very good at being in tune with our needs but also left us to enjoy our meals in peace.
My partner and I honestly loved it! Sometimes in restaurants in North America, it’s easy to feel like you’re being rushed out the door, but at Weirdo Cafe it’s the total opposite. We felt like valued patrons and appreciated their professional, attentive, yet relaxed style of service.

I can’t forget to mention my adorable “Rose Ceylon BLACK Tea”. I went snap crazy as soon as it got brought to me! I still can’t get over the beautiful word design in the foam and the cute stirring spoon. It was so artistically presented, and the sweet rose flavour and real rose petals added to the experience. One of the best hot teas I’ve ever been served. Thank you Weirdo Cafe.
Don’t forget that this cafe also serves alcoholic beverages, including an array of fun cocktails. I hope to come back during the evening to experience their night scene.
Weirdo Cafe is open from 12-9pm Tuesdays – Sundays (closed from 3:00 – 4:30pm)

One dish I’d like to try when I next visit Weirdo Cafe is their “Osaka Waffle”. Which menu item will you try? Check out their menu here.
